ITHACA

"It has something for everyone"

Ithaca has a special place in the hearts of those who live there and those who have visited its shores. It has something for everyone. Great beaches, hikes, boating trips, scuba diving, festivals, traditional food, entertainment, busy bars or quiet solitude.

Vati is the capital of the island, raised on the shores of a picturesque bay, sheltered from the waves. In the center of the bay is located the small island of Lazareto with a well preserved small 17th century church.

The most picturesque and visited village on Ithaca is Kioni. It is located in a small bay with a beautiful harbor that offers tourists all the necessary accommodations (cafes, restaurants, bars, etc.).

Visiting Ithaca one must stop by the Kataron monastery (late 17th century). It is built in the name of the Virgin Mary and is located on the top of a peak, offering a stunning view of Kefalonia and all of the Ionian islands.

Stavros is a central settlement of North Ithaca and is the sole place where a monument of Odysseus is placed.
