Skorpios or the "Onasis Island" is not only one of the Pearls in the tourist entourage of Greece, but also one of the most romantic pieces of history.

The island was once privately owned by Aristotel Onasis and has hosted his wedding with Jaklin Kenedy. As one can imagine the island has earned its name due to its unique shape resembling a scorpion.

In April 2013 Athina Onassis Roussel sold the island to the daughter of Russian billionaire businessmanDmitry Rybolovlev. The Greek government, however, is yet to confirm the legality of the purchase by theRussian oligarch.

Although it is not possible to land on Skorpios, you can pass close by on a charter yacht and see this beautiful Ionian island, playground of the rich and famous.
